The production “Hammering Man” is inspirated by the moving sculpture “Hammering Man” by Jonathan Borofsky, standing in Basel, Switzerland.
The huge projection of the metal sculpture “Hammering Man” is hammering endlessly, like a black ghost or like God working endlessly on his world. Down on stage the figures are like a microcosmos working endlessly on their world. It is not to know where this work will lead to, how it is motivated and how it affects other levels of existance.
Body and Metal - Is it this unique combination that will produce something entirely new? Or will it lead to total exhaustion?
Hammering Man was performed in the program of "Inspiració" at Trafó in Budapest (H). At that time the name offline:ontheater was not in use, but the theme and the means of expression follow the spirit of offline:ontheater.
